Great Kids Days Out in Surrey you shouldn’t Miss

Our rolling English countryside offers no end of things to see and do. The county of Surrey is certainly no exception with history, action and adventure spilling over from it’s London neighbour. Why then is it then that we still struggle to keep our tweens amused during school breaks? It is often simply because we take for granted or overlook what is right on our doorstep.

I know I am guilty of this myself as the kids days out in Surrey that we embark on are the most obvious. Yes, you guessed it Thorpe Park and Chessington World of Adventures.  Whilst these are amazing days out for teenagers, fueled by adrenaline rushes and thrill seeking, I have learnt that Surrey has lots more to offer including some lovely attractions for the younger visitor. Here are some I’d like to share with you:

Hobbledown
Family days out are precious and as far as kids days out in Surrey go, Hobbledownwill not let you down. Your children will simply fall in love with this mystical farm park adventure that is based on the magical fantasy book written by A J Kecojevic. It is an all weather attraction situated on a 50 acre site which is home to nearly 200 animals and award winning adventure play equipment. You will be looked after by the cheeky Hobblers during your visit, which all adds to the fun.

Wild Wood Adventure
If you kids are the more outgoing adventurous type, then this is definitely up there as one of the best days out for kids, and adults too. If you love a challenge, dream of swinging through the trees like Tarzan, or if you just need to overcome a fear of heights the Wild Wood Adventure has something for everyone. There are various treetop obstacle courses which, thanks to the safety harnessing, are suitable for children from the age of 6 right through to adults. So, no excuses for the parents.

Birdworld
Set in 26 acres Birdworld is home to hundreds of unusual birds as well as a farm and an aquarium making it an interesting and fun family day out with the kids. The schedule at this attraction is busy indeed with feeding times, bird displays, keeper talks and even a theatre show. So leave plenty of time for your visit to make sure you don’t miss anything, or the kids will never forgive you.

Top Tip
As parents we treasure our days out with the kids, however if they don’t quite go to plan they can suddenly turn from treasured memories into a living nightmare. So, be sure to contact the attraction or check out their schedules online before embarking on your family day out. Disappointed children can be difficult to deal with.
